The Eternal Clans

A long, long time ago, before there were clans, there were still cats. Because there was no warrior code, however, all cats were rogues and everyone fought, even kits and elders. One night, there was a horrible battle between a lot of the rogues. Many cats died, but none of the others took notice, because they were too intent upon their own survival. Four littermates, Sun, Moon, Star, and Eclipse, saw what was happening. Star, bold and caring, stepped forward to aid a kit that was being attacked by another rogue. The rogue turned on her and killed her with a single blow. Sun, seeing how many lives were being taken in this one battle, yowled, "Stop!" Every cat turned their head to look at the light tabby. "Don't you see what you are doing?" Sun cried. "You are killing those who you should respect as your family!" Some of the rogues turned away, realizing how true this was. Others disbelievingly went back to the battle. "Listen to him!" a voice from behind Sun said. All of the cats turned and looked, including Sun, Moon, and Eclipse. The cat who spoke was Star, but she was different. She had stars in her pelt and was no longer wounded. "Look at all the deaths you have caused," Star continued. As she spoke, the cats who had died started to appear. They also had stars in their pelts. "All this fighting is caused by selfishness. With nothing to live for, that is what we have all become. We need to come together as a group, not be separated." Star finished, looking around at all of the gathered cats. "I, Sun, will lead us," Sun mewed, stepping forward. "I am brave and honorable." "No," Moon contradicted, speaking for the first time. "I will lead us. I am quick and agile." Star looked at the two cats before her. "You will both lead your own groups of cats, your Clans," she told them. Sun turned out toward the other cats. "Those of you who are strong and courageous, come to me. We will be SolarClan!" he yowled. Moon stood next to his brother Sun. "Come to me if you are swift and sleek. We will be LunarClan!" he called out. The cats below them began to move into two distinct groups. Eclipse, forgotten until now, shoved between her larger brothers. "Cats who are just and knowledgable, come!" she mewed. "We will be EclipseClan!" Star looked down at all of the cats. "Those who have perished in this life, who are just and true, will come with me. We will be StarClan. Remember us and take heed of our warnings," she told all the cats, and faded away. 

Since then, the four clans have survived hunger and disease, bloodshed and war. But now some cats are turning against StarClan and their warrior anscestors. Will you join us and fight the darkness? Or will you fight against the light?

The Warrior Code comes from The Secrets of the Clans: Warriors Field Guide.

1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle. 

2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory. 

3. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. 

4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life. 

5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice. 

6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name. 

7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice. 

8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires. 

9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chose before moonhigh. 

10. A gathering of all Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for one night. There shall be no fighting among the Clans at this time. 

11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.

12. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan. 

13. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code. 

14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self defense. 

15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

1. Keep swearing/inappropriate words to a minimum.

2. You can have as many characters as you can roleplay.

3. If you have not been active in over a month your character(s) will be deleted.

4. No power-playing. Give other people a chance to respond before you attack them, and only roleplay your own characters.

5. Be literate when roleplaying.

6. Advertise only in the section in the forums that is aptly named "Advertising". 

7. Don't give away your personal info. If you do, it's your own fault if something bad happens.

8. If you know you are going to be inactive for a long time, then say so in the chatbox below.
